Susan F. DaignaultMaine Safety For Life is a safety, health and environmental consulting services organization owned and operated by Sue Daignault, a resident of Harpswell, Maine. Having lived in Maine for over 25 years, Sue has established her career in occupational safety, health and environmental services. Graduating from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1983 with a degree in Marine Engineering, she later went on to complete her Master's Degree in Adult Education at the University of Southern Maine.

Sue's primary occupational endeavor is running Maine Safety For Life, serving small, medium and larger businesses in Maine, New England and nationally. Prior to becoming an independent consultant in 2005, she was the Safety, Health and Environmental Director at Bowdoin and Bates Colleges. She has also been employed at various times in her career as a Loss Control Consultant, assisting hundreds of Maine businesses to evaluate and develop and improve their safety programs. Sue has experience with businesses and organizations spanning from the ship building industry, manufacturing, suppliers & distributors to retail and energy industries, secondary schools and institutions of higher education. She also enjoys assisting other growing safety professionals in developing their own skills as safety program leaders and will assist organizations in personnel searches when hiring safety coordinators.

Retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard in June, 2013, Sue is now devoted to her consulting and fishing endeavors. She volunteers on the Maine Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) committee and Casting for Recovery and Project Healing Waters.

Finally, Sue has a passion for catching large striped bass out of her kayak in the Harpswell area, teaches fly fishing at L.L. Bean during the summer and can sometimes be spotted casting at Grand Lake stream in the spring and fall for landlocked salmon. She is a member of the Fly Fishing Federation, a Certified Casting Instructor and a licensed Maine Professional Guide in Fishing and Recreation.

There is not a safety, health or environmental service that Sue will not address or assist you in finding the right source for guidance. She works with civilian, military, private, public, large or small organizations in any industry and she'll always talk fishing!
